Who this covers
This policy covers arubaislandrental.com. It does not cover the booking window you reach through Book now, which is operated by our booking provider and has its own privacy policy, or the website of any rental company we name in an inquiry reply.
What we collect and why
Inquiries and contact messages
When you send an inquiry or a message, we receive exactly what you type: your name, email address, phone or WhatsApp number if you give one, pick-up and return dates, pick-up location, party size, driver age, license country, child seats, an additional driver and your notes. We use it to answer you and to source the vehicle, and for nothing else. The message is delivered to our inbox by Resend, the email service we use, which also sends you the acknowledgement email. We keep the emails for as long as the inquiry and any rental that follows need them; ask and we delete them.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and to see which pages and buttons are used: pages viewed, the device and browser, the country or city derived from your IP address, and events such as a Book now click or an inquiry sent. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. We use Microsoft Clarity to see how visitors scroll and click, so we can fix confusing pages; Clarity masks form fields by default. Neither tool receives your name or email address from us.
Book now clicks
A Book now click passes through our own server before the booking window opens. We log the time, the page you came from and your browser type, so we can reconcile clicks against the monthly booking list from our booking provider. That log holds no name, email or card data.
Hosting
The site is hosted on Vercel. Like every web host it sees the IP address of each request and keeps short-lived server logs.
Cookies and consent
On your first visit our server sets one cookie, air_region, for 180 days. It holds a single word, eea or row, that says whether you are visiting from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, where analytics need your permission first, or from elsewhere. It identifies nobody.
- Visitors from the EEA, the UK and Switzerland see a consent banner. Until you choose Accept, Google Analytics runs in consent mode without cookies and Clarity does not load at all. Decline keeps it that way.
- Visitors from everywhere else get analytics by default, with this notice, as their law allows.
- Your choice is stored in your browser under the key air_cookie_consent_v1, not on our server. To see the banner again, clear this site's data in your browser.
- When analytics are allowed, Google sets cookies whose names begin with _ga, and Clarity sets _clck and _clsk. Both companies publish what these do.
Who else sees data
- Resend, which delivers the emails from the inquiry and contact forms.
- Google (Analytics 4) and Microsoft (Clarity), as described above, only when allowed.
- Vercel, which hosts the site.
- Our booking provider, once you are in the booking window: what you enter there goes to it, not to us.
We do not sell data, and we do not share it with anyone else.
Your rights
You can ask what we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, or object to how we use it. Write through the contact page; replies come from info@arubaislandrental.com. If you are in the EEA or the UK and are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to your data protection authority.
Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top tells you when.
